Just bought a bunk bed cot from Cabelas, testing it out this weekend. It caught my eye because it stores away fairly compact, takes up less space in the tent, and seemed somewhat comfy. It does seem a little heavy though.

I hear ya. I bought a couple Cabela cots and really enjoy them, but am starting to dislike their weight. Same with the shower enclosure I bought from them. They make nice stuff, but you need a trailer to haul it. I'm finding, on some trails, weight really does matter.

How did you secure it to the floor of the Jeep?

Well the cots worked out great. They were pretty comfy, but I think I'm going to buy some pads to make them a little more comfy. We were able to fit 3 cots in one tent with plenty of room to spare. The bunk bed design was sturdy, and definitely helped conserve space.

Default question: need help with rear weight issue.

I was hoping that someone in this thread might beable to answer my question. I have a 08jk with HD OME springs but with the smittybilt xrc rear bumper and tire carrier, i have a really bad rear rake now and can't put anything in the cargo area that has any weight to it. so with all the weight that these rigs carry there must be a solution that i'm missing and thank you in advance.

Stiffer springs
Spacers
air bags
lighter weight bumper. Seriously, my XRC with spare weighed in at 230 pounds . ditched it for a home made 48 pound bumper.
