Expedition Modded Jeeps - Let's see 'em!!
I just bought these from Blitspro. Its model 6lz. I have only had it on for a month but they seem to be decent quality and put out enough light for $30.
I also installed 7 of them across the face of a Rugged Ridge windshield light bar for flooding everything up close with light.

Nice idea - I like the old school look of the round lights too. Food for thought. I had the same 4 round Hella's mounted on top and a couple of months ago moved two to my bumper and left two off. I made this decision when i was overlanding and in some tight areas with low hanging branches, etc. The lights held up with no issue but decided I would change things up tp prevent potential problem in the future. Not quite as bright us 2 vs. 4 on the trails 4, but still gets the job done with the headlights and fogs. I may move them back to the top over time...never know.

What about lighting? I am looking at a light bar like Rugged Ridge that i can modify and maybe build a roof rack around. I was thinking about a Gobi style rack that tilts back with a ladder but with a light bar that was modified like this one.

LOL! I do dig the huge lights. I love the LED light bars but there is something old school about the round fogs. I love my GOBI! I would like to see what you come up with. Now you are giving me a lighting complex, they look so small compared to the top pic

This thread has my pics of the light output and a couple of guys put them on the Gobi racks also.

I used to store stuff in boxes. This time, I decided on drawers, which allow direct access to what's on the bottom, especially to what's "buried" deeper, near the back seat.
At first, I thought of making wood drawers, but wood would have been much thicker and occupy precious space. Thinner & lighter Aluminium seemed to be better.

There's 1 deep drawer and 2 more shallow ones, which I ordered along with their lockers and heavy duty telescopic rails.
The frame is made of 'L' shaped Aluminium, cut to size and riveted together.
For the top, I used marine-grade plywood, finished with 3 layers of durable yacht varnish (lightly sanded after each layer has dried).
The drawers contain tools, pneumatic impact wrench & cutting disc, shackles, small stuff like deflators, etc'.
The fridge, water, Maxpedition bags with medical & survival stuff, portable ARB compressor etc', are tied on top.
I intend to add modular tie down Aluminium rails (along the sides, near the top), for tying down whatever is put on top. (Google for - uscargocontrol.com or similar, " 24'' Aluminum Logistic Tie Down Track", Part: AT24AL". There're other sources.)
I, too, don't like rattling. The heavy duty drawer rails are silent even during trail sprints.
The tools are padded with some ~0.4" foam, cut from a thin camping mattress. It's all absolutely silent.
The drawer box is strapped to the tie downs on the floor.
The straps will be replaced with DeStaco (or similar) latches, rated to hold at least x2 the loaded weight. The latches will be mounted on the sides of the drawer box, so the top stays flat.
There's just enough space to stick a folding chair on either side. There's also a bit of space between the box and the subwoofer, so it's not blocked.
If you want a shelf but no drawers, there's a good one by onboardair.com – 'JK rear interior storage rack', part # JK-R1 – which you can buy, or make something similar. It's rated for 300 lbs, which is impressive.

Great write up. Thanks Gjeep!
With all of the chatter
, I can't even remember if I posted any updates recently
Most recently installed RIPP Gen 2, vented the hood, swapped lighting to all Rigid D2s, added rear Antirock, and swapped TR rings with a local buddy. Definitely like the wide rings better.
RubiCrawler, sitting at home, to be installed very soon. That was a local score.
I've done much more build, over the past year, than exploring due to family responsibilities. 2013 will be different.

The carrier is a Finishline West carrier. Only weighs 70 lbs, without spare. Should be quite a few Google search pics out there. I also have hundreds of build pics, from every step.
Hey all, I just got some extra spending money for Christmas and am now starting to work into the expedition build. I was wondering some key items for the build to get first other than whats already on it. Other than what you see on the outside i also have 5.13s, a d44 upfront with air lockers front and rear. Thanks
P.S. sorry about the muddy pic
