I think the 4dr's are more popular because on an expedition you really need more room than a 2 door can provide.

I'm planning on making mine into a bit of an expedition vehicle. I too wish to see more 2 doors.

Im on an Overlanding forum a there are plenty of 2 doors on there...though many are TJs and LJs. The 2 door is fine for expedition style travel as long as you're solo or one passenger. I just think most people who purchase with overlanding in mind are opting for the unlimiteds. If Jeep wasn't making a 4 door I probably would have bought a used Land Cruiser or LR3 or a new Tacoma. Im no much for playing on the rocks but the road less traveled road trip is awesome.

Here's a couple pics of my 2 door. Nowhere near done with it. It's getting quite a few additions to it this winter.

How do you like that roof rack on the 2 door? I have basically the same jeep and was thinking of getting it. That's the Gobi right?

Thanks, I'm putting a 3.5" AEV lift on it this winter with 35" tires. I'll post pics when that's done.

It's the Gobi stealth rack. I love it. It's extremely well built. We had quite a bit of weight up there on our trip and it never moved.
