Gobi tilts back but the front light bar stays in place . I just fished the wires from back to front and put a plug to disconnect when lifting the rack.would like to have the quick disconnects for rack but $150 seems way pricey for such a small part. I'll eventually cave and buy them unless I can find some on here.

Little noisy , better with tent on believe it or not and better mpg's . Have to run air on fresh to keep top pressurized , cuts down on noise tremendously. I leave the awning on

Ok, thanks. That's the way I was thinking of connecting the wires.

To cheat, I leave two of the top bolts out during summer to make tilting the rack easier. I just have to remember to throw them back in when I'm loading up something heavier than the mountain bike...

Mark, I never thought of attaching a N7 to a Cooltech mount. Part of what always put me off, was the cost of a ram mount (mounted to the pass seat bolt). This makes things pretty affordable - although I probably wouldn't be playing music or running Torque off of it (I have a scanguage2 for those stats). Would be great to move my BCN off my Note onto something like this. Looks like cost all in would be around 350-400. Not bad considering.

How much vibration is there on the unit with your setup? Am running a 2012, so the Cooltech mount is off the grab handle, but it should still work.

First off, on the Colorado Campaign trip I rode with a friend in his 2012. We used my N7 on the new interior Cooltech mount and it worked fine. There is some movement of the Nexus 7 as you bounce along the trails. But, it was surprisingly less than I expected. Most of the time, when the N7 is busy bouncing around I'm busy watching the trail. LOL. Generally, the bouncing is not a problem. But, there have been times when someone asked me for some information as we were tooling along a dirt road at 20-30 MPH. Can't say for sure whether it was the N7 bouncing or my eyeballs, but I find it better to stop to answer those questions.

Yeah its the ARb 2000. I love it. I have had it about a year. It works really well with the gobi. Worth every penny. I never noticed any additional noise or fuel issues from it. I really like having the awning for camping. Great protection from the rain and sun

You just drill a hole in his mount to mount it?

Yes. I asked him to have a 1/4" hole in his bracket so we could mount the RAM-mount ball to it. Then we transferred my RAM-mount over, and used a regular USB/micro-USB cable and USB adapter plugged into the power outlet or cigarette lighter or whatever it is up there on the '12s to power the Nexus 7.
