Nice pics, thanks for sharing! One of my very best friends lives in Washington (you may have noted his WA tag in some of the pictures in this thread, LOL). We're mulling a WABDR trip for the summer of 2015, so hang around and you may see some familiar territory!

Mark, I have to thank you for posting all your videos (especially moab). They have really gotten me interested in expedition offroading and have changed my initial ideas of building a mud monkey into building an overland Jeep. Most importantly, after showing the videos to my girlfriend, she can't wait for me to build the Jeep so we can go on these trips!

The tent itself weighs around 100 lbs. I put the annex in the rear of the JK. With the weight of the Yakima rack totals around 120 lbs. The inside mount points have been strengthened with 3/4" by 6" aluminum strips bounded to the inside of the Fiberglas top. The Yakima mounts are located on the outer most strengthening ribs of the top. So each foot sees around 30 lbs down weight static. While camping, the extended half of the ten is supported by the tent ladder. Figuring 60 lbs tent weight and the addition of 2 adults, say combined 330 lbs for talking, normally I camp single. Let's say use 3/4 of the people weight, bottom half of body weight supported by ladder, I estimate in an static camping mode each Yakima landing pad is seeing less than 100 lbs.

After having the tent on for over a year, I have not noticed any flexing while in use or any evidence of stress cracking inside or out.

Chef, The bumper and fuel carriers are from Trunk and Winch, brand name " Spider".

http://truckandwinch.com/spyder-tire...ng-system.html

They are chinese made and are well built. The feudal carriers are bolt on and work with any 2" square tire carrier uprights Click image for larger version

QPDO, honestly, the best part of owning a jeep isnt' the wheeling (well that's fun too), but seeing where some of the travels take you. I personally love the idea of going down old mining roads (that hopefully lead up a mountain) to see where they go.

Saw this on my Facebook feed. I know it's not a Jeep but I thought it did seem like a pretty badass expedition vehicle. Defender, I think. Looks like it is from Turkey.

Wow, those are some big tires. I wonder if the four door does better than the two door for range? My friend I go regularly with can only get about 150 miles on a tank. Of course, he's running "petrol" and that one is likely diesel ...

I figure the tires on that Defender must be at least 42s based on the wheel diameter. Painfully bad gas mileage.

I like your buddy's D90. I have always thought it would be nice to get one as an extra vehicle but they seem pretty scarce. Around here there is a place in Boston that gets them, Copley Motor Group, but they are at a real $$$ premium. And they're usually mint so it seems like it would be hard to take one out wheeling and mess it all up.

Mark, have you ever considered doing a diesel swap? I've put some thought to it as a "once i get the time and money" kind of project, mostly because of mileage.
