No, I haven't. I can live with the gasoline motor here in the U.S. But, maybe the next Jeep ...

here is the best pic of the camera... as for the monitor... it is the stock head unit. RHR I think... It's the stock nav unit with a lock pic installed.

So I'm going to be turning my JKU into an expedition/overland rig and I'm going to change out my lift. It is my DD and I am looking at AEV kits. I like the look of my 4" but it seems a majority of people here run a 2.5", would running the 3.5" from AEV be a huge negative for me? Any other recommendations?

I look forward to seeing people's opinions on this as well. I plan on a hybrid expedition build for my two-door, but I've been torn between the 2.5 and 3.5 in part for this very reason.

my $0.02 from what I have learned on here and what I think. can you get by with the 2.5" lift, will it clear the tires you want? the lower lift should help in wear and tear on the drive train & suspension and could give a little better return in MPG. I put on a 2.5 MetalCloak and skid plates to protect the underside of my Jeep.

I wouldn't change out a 4 for a 2.5 or 3.5. I have a 3.5 with another 3/4 spacer but with the full width arb bumpers, full roof rack, tire carrier and all the gear that goes with it the jeep settles quite a bit. Fully loaded it needs all the lift I have to clear the 35's. Now, you could run smaller tires and a lot of people do. I personally like the looks of a 35 inch tire on a 4dr. On the 2012 and newer, if you run a 2.5 inch lift, you will need a front shaft and exhaust spacers anyway.

^ nice jeep. I agree with the factoring in the weight of bumpers, and the latter 35" tire size that will be going on after the lift sooner or later.

I think I will be going the 3.5" rather than 2.5" when I do now. Thanks.

I've read that link, and that post, while it helps a little, it doesn't quite answer my question. Thanks for the reply.

One of my biggest reasons for wanting to switch is the ride quality on this lift. With it being my DD it is an incredibly rough ride. I want something that handles a little bit better and has a little smoother ride. Before you flame me and say it's a Jeep yada yada yada. I get that, I don't mind a rough ride, I actually prefer a rough ride over a smooth ride. This ride is just that much worse. I can't hit a bump in the road without being bounced around all over, and hearing my things in the back bounce around.

I think that's the route I'm going to be taking as well. It was another thought of mine to go with the 3.5" because of all the added weight.
