Threw together a quick trip with the family through the Ouray, Silverton, Durango area. I posted up in the Four Corners area, but basically did that area, Canyon of the Ancients and Monument Valley.

Michael(Overland Bound), he is also on Facebook. He was doing the first run of 250, and you could request what number you wanted. The number is then registered to you and no one else will have your number............Not sure if the 250 have been filled yet. They are a heavy medallion, It is solid metal.

 

OTRATTW has the Contura XIV toggles now available, though the website may not have them listed. Call them direct to discuss your needs if interested. I had the Contura IIs, but they were silk-screened, so the backlighting made it impossible to read the text and see the symbol. The Contura Vs are laser-etched, thus the backlighting can be read. But, they don't really fit the aesthetic of the older JK interior. These Contura XIVs are a very nice compromise. Now need to do some more wiring work on the sPOD controller so that the backlighting is controlled by the dash lights intensity (it currently is for the oil pressure gauge, so just need to move a wire inside the controller itself).

 

Read the article linked below today and it really struck a cord. I see a lot of beautiful Jeep builds here on JK-Forum, but often time the pictures of those builds are driveway shots. I ask myself when I see these if these folks are actually getting out to enjoy the product of their hard work (even if they paid someone else to build it, I presume they worked hard to earn the money to afford that). Anyway, while acknowledging that mall crawlers have their place and I'm not trying to knock those who prefer that, the point I'm trying to make is you'll derive a lot more happiness from using a lesser rig that you can afford while leaving some money to travel, than from building a monster rig that you can't afford to take out and enjoy. Experience matters more than owning, as this scientific study explains ...

Exactly, first I was about to do a lot of change because it mostly look good but now I'm more why change something that already work for me. New bumper are nice but it won't be the end of the world if I don't change them right away.

First trip will probably all east coast so I think I mostly need recovery kit and air compressor for tire. I was doing camping without a Jeep before and it won't end. Anyway my best souvenir are not thing I've bought but it's my Turkey and Iran travel.

 

Very nice! I needed a couple more switches and saw he had this listed as well. Ended up replacing all of my Contura V's with these guys. Curious to see how it changes the look of things.
