Expedition Modded Jeeps - Let's see 'em!!
Yes, all the sunshine here is great. Finally getting some snow too which makes it nice. I like the rooftop tent you have and am looking at all options to allow me to build an expedition worthy JK.
Whats up ya'll. I've been building my jeep for the rocks since day one but since i'm moving back out west this year and plan to travel/camp/explore as much as i can im going to be modding it for expeditioning, the rocks makes owning a jeep too damn expensive lol.
Here's what she looks like so far. I've got a lot more to do i know, any opinions?

I think that with the advent of the four door in 2007, it really opened up the Jeeps to this style of use. Before that, because of space limitations, it was just a few hardy souls who chose to use two-doors on expedition type travel. Now, the Unlimiteds are building up quite a reputation. The latest issue of Overland Journal raves about their long-term test JKU. And just yesterday Newsweek published their list of best value vehicles, and 2012 Wrangler was on it--primarily because of the redesigned interior (in 2011) and the Pentastar engine. As more folks choose these, the reputation of the Wrangler will move beyond rock crawling to include overlanding/expedition travel and I think you'll see marketing move there was as well. JMHO, of course.
Glad people like you have blazed a trail ahead of me. I'm more of an overlander type so it's reassuring to see people doing it and finding out what works and doesn't work on their rigs. Love all the photos, never have been much of a picture taker, but might change that. Appreciate the time you've put into this thread.
