Experimented and committed to painting the bare aluminum uprights flat black or light textured bedliner. Finishing the job this weekend; full repaint.

although I haven't painted bare aluminum with it yet, I really like SEM black trim paint. I buy it at a local body shop.

I'll check it out. Needs to be durable, simple rattle touch-up and not shiney.

Today I tested the OruxMaps on my Acer A100 running Honeycomb. Loaded the topo map and it worked nicely without the need for any wireless service. Really cool.

How do you find oruxmaps. Will it work with Garmin maps?

Just go to the Android Marketplace (I believe Google changed its name recently) and do a search. It comes right up.

Then you just download the maps online and store in your device. Your limit is the amount of memory in your device. In my case I downloaded the NW's topo maps.

It works with the A100's embedded GPS and shows your position in real time, which is something I could not make the Garmin software do on my UMPC.
