I installed the AMI's locked door. Has been working great. No rattles and is very solid.
However, this thread started making me thinking about other potential issues, mostly the hood, which does not have any lock at all and leaves the engine exposed to all kind of freaks.

Is it possible to install a spring lock similar to other cars where we pull a cable in the car that clears a latch, or something similar, before we can open the hood? I started thinking about that. I do not like the keyed solution because it would add a lot of time in case we need to open the hood in a hurry.

I just busted a gas thief today. Guy was driving a white chevy van with a110 gallon tank inside the van. He would pull along side of a parked car and slide the side door open and run his hose down into the tank. He had a holley fuel pump wired up to his hose, then he just sat in the back of the van and pumped out everybodys gas. He aslo had a gas pump hooked up on the other end of the tank and then sold the gas to his friends and even pumped it for them. It was one of those large tanks that go in the bed of a pickup truck to fuel heavy equipment.

I have motion lights all over my driveway, If they are ballsy enough to do it while they are being lit up by all the floods then I will introduce them to my first line of defense. And while she is using them for a chew toy I will be slowly walking out there to introduce them to this. Thank GOD Indiana allows me to protect my property with all means necessary and we do NOT have the duty to retreat. They are going to have a real bad evening until the cops arrive.

I remember the movie "The Jackal" with Bruce Willis where he sprays something on his minivan's door latch that kills a burglar trying to open it almost instantaneously. That's a good deterrent, if actually available.

A locking gas cap does the trick, they go to an easier target. Of course, out here they are too busy stealing brass plaques from graveyards. Melt down and sell the brass. It’s really disgusting.

Gas is going up mainly because of a speculator bubble. Underlying it is unresolved Iraq and Libya, coupled with a strike in Gabon over hiring foreign workers instead of citizens.

I got a locking gas cap from a local auto store and the key ended up breaking off inside at the pump on my way to work. Scary feeling. Jammed the other half of the key in and opened it. Took it back that afternoon and put the stock cap back on.

heya ren, i had a problem with it in my old jeep but the jku came with locking gas cap. I park across the street from my job in the toys R us lot and i cant leave it there with the doors off. Every time i do, someone tries to pry open the center concil and glove box. they stole my hi-lift, so when shes naked i put her on the hill. I really don't want to have to buy another hi-lift or end up getting my other gear taken.
