Gas Thieves?
Last week my wife and I decided to drive to her parents about 100 miles, I wanted to drive the jeep but decided to take the wife's rogue becasue its better on gas(25-27 compared to my 12-16). So i fill it up b4 I leave and drive there, after the first night I decide to take a trip in to town and relize I need I need gas, I was think that's weired but didn't think to much into it. So I fill up again drive back to the house, the next morning start the car and the engine light comes on. I pop the hood check fluids and what not. Look on the side of the car and theres a hose hanging out, they hit me twice in 24hrs. So much for being cheaper than the Jeep, I have a locking gas cap that would have saved me about $100.
I just busted a gas thief today. Guy was driving a white chevy van with a110 gallon tank inside the van. He would pull along side of a parked car and slide the side door open and run his hose down into the tank. He had a holley fuel pump wired up to his hose, then he just sat in the back of the van and pumped out everybodys gas. He aslo had a gas pump hooked up on the other end of the tank and then sold the gas to his friends and even pumped it for them. It was one of those large tanks that go in the bed of a pickup truck to fuel heavy equipment.
I have motion lights all over my driveway, If they are ballsy enough to do it while they are being lit up by all the floods then I will introduce them to my first line of defense.
And while she is using them for a chew toy I will be slowly walking out there to introduce them to this.
Thank GOD Indiana allows me to protect my property with all means necessary and we do NOT have the duty to retreat. They are going to have a real bad evening until the cops arrive.

I park across the street from my job in the toys R us lot and i cant leave it there with the doors off. Every time i do, someone tries to pry open the center concil and glove box. they stole my hi-lift, so when shes naked i put her on the hill. I really don't want to have to buy another hi-lift or end up getting my other gear taken.

Same in Texas. I'll be calling the police but only to file the report and pick up the corpse. Texas is real good about protection of person and property. Chances are you won't even take you to the station. They'll file a report and then tell you to have a good day.
I think you're right. Both times the fuel levels did not seem to go down which surprised me. This would verify that. But still, just the idea that they tried twice pisses me off. The other poster's comments about drilling into tanks is disturbing. Hopefully the skids will be a deterrent.
