JK Show & Tell Whether they're just poser shots in your driveway or hardcore action shots on the trail, if you've got photos or videos of your Jeep JK Wrangler (or any JK for that matter that you think is worth showing off, inside or out), we want to see them so please post them here! Likewise, if you are wanting to see a photo of something specific like an aftermarket JK part or poser shot with a specific setup, this is the place to ask for it.

Laugh now but envy my 1/2 doors later...

That's looking really good. I'm enjoying watching your progress on this.

Oh thank god... its just a template for metal half doors you plan to build... I was about to say one person with wood half doors is what it is, two people with wood half doors is a pandemic and we better alert the WHO (World Health Orginization).

Put the rear seats down and there's a cargo area mat for sale now that would cover the entire rear end--I could really get into that. So, what are you doing with those wood templates when you're finished with your project?
I stronly suggest that if you are going to have people in the back seats you do not want wood half doors.... knock on wood (no pun intended) but if you get in an accident with those things that is increadibly dangerous those doors would turn into shrapnel.

When I make the real door I'll make it out of solid angle iron and weld it to the door frame with slotted holes to adjust the "depth". When the factory outside door handles come (tomorrow I hope) I'll make a linkage to the actuator arm. From the inside I'll probably just push up on the actuator.

Damn... you found those latches cheaper than I did... and I thought I had searched high and low. Mine ran $32 for the set.

I bought the more expensive ones with a mechanical lock because I couldn't find those....

Ah well... such is life!

Default Added handles

I'll have to rig a lever to pull the latch because the outer handle just pushes IN. I'll figure something out this weekend. I pick up the steel tomorrow so I'll be making the REAL DEAL next weekend

BTW I had a 1/2 can of yellow left over from painting my bike and could not help myself

Yes I am. I'm going to get these completely finished so I can go "front doorless" and still have the little ones in back then I'm going to tackle the fronts. I've already got the latches, handles and hinges for all four so it'll go a lot quicker than this set has. The collecting pieces has taken a lot of time.

Good point, but maybe you missed what I'm trying to do: Make the Jeep look more like a two door with an extended bed. No one in the backseats, which will be lowered, covered with a floormat, and the tub will be enclosed with a Duster plus extension. In fact, I don't even want handles/latches on the rear door enclosures.
