also talked to the guy about what it would take for gettin an LS past inspection ... if i can find some way to register it in the next county over ... all i gota do is put it in!! but this county would suck bad.
just rip out all the overbearing electronics, throw in a stand alone ECM, re-fit the cluster with auto-meter ... hehehe

Correct from the factory side markers are just markers...I did the daniel stern blinker mod (splice lol) basically if I remember correct just clip the positive from the side marker and splice it into the front grill turn sigs. Two quick splices for a great safety upgrade...definetly worth the 10 minutes it took .
