I have Piaa's on the jeep and Kc's on the Xterra. My vote is for Piaa's

Cool i was thinking about mounting the long range on my windshield but i heard some mounts position the light so that it gets in the way? Any ideas on which mounts i should get and what model piaas would be best?

I like the KC light mounts, they look the best IMO.

I researched them a long time. I feel the Piaa's are higher quality and have a lifetime warranty. They also have a whiter light, although the ion crystal is an amber light, and use less current than the kc's. I also heard the kc's tend to rust although kc takes care of these issues with a great warranty. The Piaa's do cost more, but well worth it imo...

Next you need to consider how many lights you will eventually have and the power output that your system will need to be able to handle. I chose PIAA for my roof rack because they are an efficient design and therefore get more light out of less wattage. Less wattage equals less amp draw. Ideally I would have went with LED but the price point was too high.

For my primary lighting I have 2 7" HIDs form HIDx. http://www.hidxlights.com/HIDX_Light...%22_Light.html

These lights I will have on for long periods of time. The website says 3.5 amps per light but in reality they pull about 5 amps per lamp. So.... I get an unbelievable amount of light with only a 10 amp load on my system.

Be sure and look at all the light brands out there. Here's a summary...

HALOGEN:
KC - good
Hella - good
PIAA - better
LightForce - Best

HID:
All the above companies make HID it just add to the cost of the lamp. Some that are not listed..
HIDx - good

LED:
LED is the new technology and very expensive. For that extra cost you get a very efficient, virtually indestructible lamp.
Vision X
Rigid Industries

Happy shopping!!!
That's funny....I run atp's on the windshield and the glare isn't bad at all.....and I prefer the wider beam pattern
