What was done to your JK this week?

I know I need a suspension lift so don't say it unless you can say it loud enough for the wife to hear. It's coming!

Lake is crazy low.
She'll hear it when you tear a nice gash into the sidewalls of one of those! Did she hear that???

Changed the oil for the first time post-lift installation...how nice it is to not have to jack up the Jeep at all to do an oil change!!!

Changed out the oil.

Changed out the oil in the diffs.

New windshield wipers.

Installed Teraflex spacers in the front to level her slightly. Pic is in the 1 inch thread!

Checked the brake shoes, look brand new at 16000 miles.

Wire wheeled some under body scrapes and hit with some black Rustoleum. Mainly the transmission crossmember. Had a few nice gouges in it!

Banged on the Trektop header with a rubber mallet. Have to put it back on to see if it got any quieter.

Ran a nylon strap across the rollbars from the grabs to mount my Midland 75-822 up out of the way. Got tired of it sitting on the seat.

Hit two trails!

Default OME lift installed

This was the third weekend in a row I had my front suspension apart. Two weeks ago, I added the 3/4" spacers back on top of my TF BB; Last week I swapped the 2-door Rubicon springs and 3/4" spacers for Unlimited Rubicon springs...when David @ Northridge announced his 'closed' sale, I couldn't resist, so I ordered up an OME STD lift for my 2 door Rubi with 33" tires...here's the results:

Comparison of OME std springs with Unlimited Rubicon sprins + BB spacers, front:

Rear:

Rubi with Unlimited springs and BB:

Rubi with OME lift:

My take on the OME lift- I lost about 3/4" in the front with the OME std springs compared to the Unlimited Rubicon springs with the BB, but the ride is amazing now, plus I don't have spacers stacked, I like that. This is the lift I would have put on in the first place had it been available back in early 2007 when I started this process. I am completely happy with the Standard OME springs for my Rubi with 33" tires. If and when I add a winch, I can always put the 3/4" spacers back in the front if there is any spring sag.

I left all the extras on from the TF BB, that is, extended bump stops, swaybar links, rear brake line relocation brackets. Seeing as how I got a little more lift overall than I had with just the 2 door Rubi springs and BB, it seemed like they would be a good thing to keep. Also, after the OME swap, my front axle still seems centered, and so does the steering wheel. I will probably get a JKS rear adjustable track bar down the road, they are great for centering axles, I have one in the front.

I left the stock world! Thanks to the forum, got some good used tires, some 17 inch wheels which i painted black, and some 1.5 inch spacers. Also bought a used budget boost that will go on shortly.
