It's been frustrating seeing how fast most peoples orders have been getting built while I waited for months without any info. I'm happy now though!
First post here, guys. Been following all the posts since oooohhhh... Dec 01, when I ordered my JKUR, manual, black on black leather with painted trim, all available options. I feel your pain for the wait. I ordered mine out of Toronto, and there's been no, I mean NO explanation for the delay. But I did get a tentative ship date of Feb 28. Call me skeptical at best, but I'll believe it when I see it. I have yet to speak with the dealer and request something from them as a customer service gesture, as the 6-8 weeks that they originally quoted has turned into 14ish at best. Not acceptable. Especially considering that I've been driving a 4 Runner for over 10 years, with excellent customer service from Toyota across 3 different provinces. Not a great first impression. But hey, it's a Jeep. As much as the whole situation has been really frustrating, I've gotta say that reading about others here in the same place, does make me feel kinda warm and fuzzy, as I now know that I haven't been alone. Somebody else feels my pain;o)

Welcome to the dark side Jake. I do know that the unlimited Rubis had a hold for some reason for a few weeks in January. I also know that demand has been way higher of late than anticipated. Dealers have been quoting 6-8 weeks as is standard, but clearly that is optimistic at present.

Clearly, these aren't "tactics" or "fault" of Jeep. However, if I know these things, Jeep does as well. Just my opinion, but it would help a lot if Jeep just said (and by extension he dealers), "our demand is so high right now that lead times on custom orders is running closer to 12 weeks than the usual 6."

Just my two cents, but I doubt we'd all be trying to break the encryption of the timing if we'd have known that from the get go.

All about the expectation. Perhaps my job clouds my judgement, but I find Jeep to be the only company to miss a press release for "too much demand."

Just wish I'd have known. Less parts hanging around and could have made two more wheeling trips.

For any new readers... Count on 3 months for now. And know you have about 2 weeks at least from your 2nd email.

I feel half bad that mine took only 6 weeks. I guess I just got lucky.

No need to feel bad. Glad you got yours. The frustration for most seems to be the lack of communication. For those of us with delays, we simply get no info. Or worse... incorrect info.

Fortunately, this thread works to help with some of that. Internet therapy. :-)

Guys I'm starting to get worried. My estimated ship date is Friday and I'm still in Production Scheduled on VOTS. If it's going to make the ship date they better hurry up or hopefully VOTS is just behind. My excitement is beginning to go back to anxiety.

Just got my 2nd email this morning. Called my dealer, he said it's scheduled for march 7th build. Ordered on 2-1-2012. Is this fast? It's a jkur, triple white with black cloth, automatic, dual top loaded.

demint1, VOTS is notoriously behind. I wouldn't worry about it. You'll probably get an email that it shipped before you see it move to paint.

JKashat, that would be pretty fast relative to some of us with JKUR's. Looks to be a month faster than my timeline (although 7 weeks isn't exactly "fast.")

Make me wonder what the heck is going on with MortuaR's Jeep, though.

How long does it typically take for the actual build and for it to arrive to my dealership (in Michigan)?
Thanks!

The build itself is about 40 hours, as I understand it. Then it gets inspected, then shipped (assuming no problems with inspection). No idea on your ship time (mine looks to be 12 days or so), but maybe a week to Michigan is my guess.

Me too... I haven't seen a 2nd email.
