When you get your 2nd email, you are "actually scheduled" to go to the line, which will be roughly 2 weeks later. That is D1 status, and it means you are no longer in never never land.
I heard vots is constantly behind. Is it possible to have a build date even if vots still says schedule for production?

Yes, we ordered our Jeep on 01-31-2012. Got the first email a week or so later and the second email a week or so after that. The website still say it is scheduled for production but wheel I called today I was told it will be loaded on the rail car on 03-08-2012. That mean that pour Jeep should be finished by now, but is still show scheduled for production.

Hope this help you.

Yes. Said it many times before. As 4x4chick confirmed, VOTS is terrible. You will be "production scheduled" until the day (maybe 2) before you ship. When you get your second email, you'll get a ship date and arrival estimate. Check VOTS a day or two before your ship date. Won't see any changes until then.

You might catch frame, paint, or trim. But dollars to doughnuts you won't catch more than one of those. By the time you see that, it will be in shipment the next day (maybe 2 days later).

Weak I ordered on 1/27 even though the dealer probably put it into the system on the 1/30. I still have yet to get a second email. What did you order? I ordered a 2 dr Rubicon what may take longer I have no clue though? Enjoy your Jeep!

I ordered Feb 11. Got the first email about a week. Second at about two weeks. No actual build date available. Jeep says it is scheduled to ship on the 14th.

You got more than me. I never received a second email. Good thing my cousin is the owner of the dealership I'm buying from. The general manager is going to call Jeep today to find out what is going on with my order.

I posted this in the "order code" thread:

Ordered my Jeep from dealer - 2/22/12
1st e-mail - "received your order/building and delivering parts for assembly" - 3/6/12
2nd e-mail -"production is scheduled/tracking number" - ???
3rd e-mail - "vehicle in shipment" - ???

I was hoping for a 5~6 week wait until delivery but, based on the flow of information so far and other peoples wait times, it seems I may be in the 7~8 week time frame. I'm now thinking i'll see delivery around the 2nd week in April at 7 weeks.

It's funny, I never understood how people could be so impatient on the forums waiting for a vehicle to be built, but now......damn, it really is like time has slowed to a crawl.
My sales guy has called me once to say "hi" and let me know that I should be getting some info on order status as time goes by, that was nice. It is what it is though, I ordered a Jeep, it's "in the mail", and they'll call me when it's ready. It's kinda cool to know exactly what stage in the process of building/delivery it is, but i'm not going to torture myself over every detail of the wait either. I was told 6~8 weeks at the dealer, and thats about right it seems.

My build moved from "production scheduled" to "paint" from yesterday to this morning.

Awesome! There's a chance you could even see the Jeep by the end of the week depending on where in Michigan you are! Mine was built, shipped, and delivered to the dealer in a total of 2 days...
