Mine's a totally stock 2012 2-door Rubicon automatic, 3.73 gears.

I'm sitting right at the city and highway ratings of 17/21. That's over about 2500 miles of driving before I headed back to Afghanistan. Right now I have no idea how its doing...all I know is that my brother is loving the fact that I left my Jeep and my motorcycles with him while I'm deployed! hahahahaha!

Ok. Took her on the highway for the first time and got a whole 14.9 mpg on cruise control at 70mph

Just out of curiosity but has anyone noticed an improvement after the "break in period"? I've never owned a new or very low mileage vehicle but have had friends and family say that after 5000-10000 miles the vehicles performed a lot better.

Just wondering if this may affect anything since they are new vehicles after all.

All stock 2012 Rubicon with soft top 4.10's....and VERY easy on the skinny pedal. The numbers don't lie. But not sure if I crossed the break in period yet or not at 1,200 miles.

That's how the Gus Cubby app works. You input your Odometer reading, total gallons, & price per gallon; it does the rest. You just have to fill the tank or it's off.

What he said. It ask you about 12 million question and does the math for you.

You have to go inside the app and calculate that. On Jan 20th my OD read 956 miles. My fill up on Jan 21 my OD read 1,210 miles. So 254 miles per tank. Do the math at 14.38 gallons and you get 17.xxxxxxMPG

I understand what you're asking but there are too many variables to accurately calculate why you get X mpg while someone else gets Y mpg. The engines themselves while theoretically the same, are not complete clones. You can't take two engines and get the exact same power/efficiency numbers from them. Then you add in factors like the terrain, wind, atmosphere, quality of fuel, drivers mood and all bets are off. Even two identical vehicles driven on the same trip at the same time would not give exact results.

I don't use those numbers the Jeep computer reads. Just take both OD reading and subtract, then divide by how much fuel was pumped. But I've been reading for the 2012's that bigger tires are getting better MPG because with the new trans & 4.10 it is a little much for the stock 32's.
