Just checked the page one prices. Everything matched except for the Connectivity group. My sheet has pricing of $385/343.

That and I was told you cannot order black leather seats only the saddle. Sorry if that had been covered already, I must have missed it.

Still can't decifer the difference between max tow and trailer tow. Soooo. I ordered both just to cover all bases. Checking both dropped the trailer tow group to msrp$25 and fwp$22.

Then why is the towing capacity 3500 lbs with trailer tow. A class 5 hitch can handle something like 10000 lbs

Default 1st ordered vehicle

This is so funny to me. I have purchased so many new cars over the last 20 years and sold so many working in the car and motorcycle business that I could only guess how many I have sold, but this is the first time I have ever ORDERED a vehicle to my specifications. I am silly giddy about it, ridiculous!

I just got my vin number from Marc Antonucci at the Kirby Auto Group in Simi Valley. He and the staff there have been great! When I was concerned about the confusion of the Max Tow, and what gear ratio I was going to get they contacted someone at Chrysler to verify that with the 23r 6-speed and the max tow package I would still get 4.10 gears, then showed me the email confirming it. I know now that I may be getting 1.25" receiver which sucks but at least I won't have to mess with the wiring, and I'll have great excuse to change rear bumper sooner.

So I ordered:
2012 Rubicon Unltd
23r Manual 6-speed trans
Sahara Tan
Cloth Black/Dark Saddle
Color Matched Freedom Top
Color Matched Fenders
Connectivity
Max Tow

I told Marc about the Tread Lightly Affiliate Program and he simply smiled and asked for the control number, good to go!

Now I wait with everyone else...

I COULD have lived with it but went with 5:13's and went back to the happy with it feel again. With the Sahara D30 I couldn't go any lower up front but after driving the 5:13's I would have if I could have.
SO with that said, from what I am reading and I know I will go 35's,, aftermarket bumpers ect again I can only hope that the 4:10 might be good enough in the 2012 but I'm not betting on it. I bet I'll want 4:88's or even 5:13's again. I have a 2dr now and plan to go unlimited,, so even more weight. So for me why not at least go 4:10's from the factory and have a little hope anyway.
I can't fault your logic. If I go larger I think I will end up with 4.88's or 5.13's..maybe. If the 4.10's do it for you then you are ahead of the game. I want the MPG's now. 3.73 should give me better mpgs' than the 4.10's ( lower RPM's at a given speed). Your logic works also.

Important information regarding 2012 Rubicon orders

If you have already ordered a 2012 Rubicon with the 5-speed automatic transmission:

** 4.10 rear axle (sales code DMF) will be added to all Rubicon orders with automatic transmission that are in BX through D status.

** Sold orders will have DMF added to D1 status orders.

** 4.10 was thought to be standard for automatic transmission. Since this is not the case, Jeep is correcting orders to reflect the optional DMF. This applies to orders with an order entry date prior to July 7, 2011.

Since production starts on 07/18, does that mean I have 30 days through 08/18?
Production date has been moved up, it will now start on 7/14.

Last day of production for Sahara Tan is 8/22/11. Typically ordering will close 30 ahead of that, but no guarantee of that. All I know is that as of today it is still open for ordering.

Default 4.1 mpg

Any guesses on what the mpg will be if the gear ratio is 4.10? Pre and post 35 inchers?
