2012 Wrangler information thread
The invoice price for the Connectivity group on page 1 was a typo and has been corrected.
Typically, order banks open up at least 30 days prior to production. Paint schedules have been erratic so hard to say exactly. When the dates are know they will be posted on the first post of this thread.
Also saw a post where the pricing for these packages was listed - and the Max tow is more expensive, but doesn't include the trailer sway damping and such...seems like it MUST be flipped if the weaker and less featured option is more expensive, too...
I've never bought a new car before. Just old used hondas for college. So this is my first and I'm not making any payments. I decided to finally give in and order one. Does anyone know a good sales man Or woman in San Antonio, Texas? I want to make sure I get the best deal on a 2012 Rubi. Also how does the process work? Do I pay the reservation fee then the down payment when it gets in or when does the loan come into play? I couldn't find another thread this. Any help is greatly appreciated
Trainer,
I'd start by enrolling in Tread Lightly. If you are not part of any other affiliate group, it will get you a 1% below invoice discount ant any Chrysler/Jeep dealer. Then proceed to a couple of different dealers and see what, if anything, they require to order one for you. My dealer charged me $0 to put my order in. Others have been asked for $500, others $1,000. I would stay away from any dealer asking more than $500. There is no logical reason for asking for such a large deposit. It's hard to order a "weird" Jeep, so the dealer has very little risk if you walk away. The worst that would result for them is another unit to sell.
You will not need to make your down-payment until you are taking delivery. If the money is cheap (less than 4%) finance as much as they will let you. If you prefer, buy down the note amount with a greater down-payment to get the monthly payment you like.
I can't offer much advice as to a good dealer in your area, but everyone has their own experience. The TL discount will put you on a fairly level playing field -- from there it's just who you like and feel comfortable with. Good luck.
