im not sure how people will take this but..

there are all kinds of better 2wd suv's out there. why would you buy a Jeep with just 2wd. the purpose of the whole "Jeep" thing is the 4wd off roading. i understand it looks a certain way etc. but if you're buying a Jeep anyways i still can't understand why not just get the 4wd?

don't get me wrong, it's your car buy what you want and enjoy. but don't get all bent out of shape when people wonder why you didn't buy one of those better 2wd suvs instead of a Jeep that should be 4wd. really i think Jeep shouldn't make a 2wd wrangler. even the 2wd rhd for mail carriers.

Nobody bent out of shape , but the fact is not everywhere or everybody needs a 4x4 , by not giving people options , then you a very limited to a small market , and when that small market is not buying then well bye bye wrangler , believe it or not this site is a very small group of wrangler owners , that are out there , and 2wd jeep with a locker and some good tires , is still a very good moderate trail rig

Can you tell me which of those better 2wd suv's have four doors and allow you to take the top and doors off?

Exactly what I was thinking... There isn't another SUV like the wrangler though. Maybe you don't need the 4wd but you want to be able to go doorless and topless. However I do agree with the point that you should go 4wd and that jeep shouldn't have made 2wd unless special ordered.

A 2WD jeep does sounds pointless, but mine is effectively "2WD" for 99% of the time. The ability to remove doors and top and still look natural is uniquely "Jeep". I can't think of any other vehicle that can pull that off, 2WD or 4WD.

I agree, and it makes me feel good that 4WD is there just in case.

Why do you care so much about what other people think?
