Question auto vs. manual

I have a quick question, I'm new to to jks but not to automotives, I'm about to buy a new jeep and was wondering whether to get a manual or auto. I'm leaning towards manual but was just wondering how the clutch, throwout bearing, and preasureplate wares from constant use when rock crawling. Should I go auto or manual? Let me know?

uuummm. Please take this in the spirit in which it is intended. You will find proponents of each camp. Folks will say the auto. is no good on the highway on long hauls. You will find folks that say, to climb, auto is the only way to go.

Please give more input on your intended use of your Jeep to help people give you a better informed answer.

There is also a "Search" function on the top, right of the screen when you log in. Perhaps it is worth a look. You plug in your search parameters and, I think, you will be happy with the results.

I don't rock crawl much...but I got a manual and love it
I'm sure it all comes down to personal preference, and your confidence in your driving ability.

I'm more worried about the constant pressing and depressing of the clutch. Know any advantages or disadvantages to both?

6 speed. More fun, better hill climbing and economy. Manual transmissions are known to have fewer problems overall.

If you do any mountain driving you wont like the auto. I wheel my 6-speed rubicon all the time. With the low gearing i almost never have to use the clutch. You can wank faster than it will go in 1st in low. Ive got 29000 miles on it and no slipping or other problems yet. I would go manual all the way.

That's not something I have done while driving.
