Oh boy... I'm sensing some "Try using the search function" responses here!
Zuma, this has been an ongoing topic on the forum for quite sometime now.
There are plenty of strong opinions and pro's & con's for both cases. My response to this question has always been... It's your Jeep, drive what you want and will be most comfortable with. You will be good to go!
Automatic Rubicon here if you don't make it to my sig.
The search function does really work well, it's up over with the other forum controls on the top right corner of the page.
Enjoy whatever JK you get and post pics when you get it!

Auto was only option for me. Wife can"t drive a stick and refuses to learn
. So the only way to get the jeep was to get an auto. No biggie....with living in the city it is kinda nice to just sit back and drive instead of constatntly shifting in stop-and-go traffic. If I lived in a more rural area I would definitely want to have a manual though

Manual was my choice...twice. My complaint with the auto is that we did not get the 5 speed like the diesel. The auto in the US JK is a 3 speed + OD. I feel you need the MT just to squeeze every bit of power from our weak-a$$ engine. Now, if we had the Hemi with a 5 speed AT, I'd be in heaven.
Good luck!
Good luck!
I have a quick question, I'm new to to jks but not to automotives, I'm about to buy a new jeep and was wondering whether to get a manual or auto. I'm leaning towards manual but was just wondering how the clutch, throwout bearing, and preasureplate wares from constant use when rock crawling. Should I go auto or manual? Let me know?
