auto vs. manual
I had a manual and it was fine, but I will be getting an auto the next time. I cant stand driving manual in NJ anymore, it will primarily be my wifes and she can only drive auto, and being in other Jeeps offroad its a lot nicer to just cruise around without all the work of shifting.
I"m going with a auto. I'm an appraiser, in the car a lot, I will take pictures from my car, take notes from my car. I also live in the city.
I like the manual, I know their are advantages, but for my use work and home, the auto makes more sense. If I was buying something to go off road a majority of the time with, I would go manual.
You got to look at it that way, what works best for you.

I wouldnt recommend that either, hell, I wouldnt even type that as a remote possibility of things to do while going down a hill.
Love the manual, to get the most feel out of the Jk...the engine is so weak, it is a must...manual all the way......if I had a hemi, I would consider the auto
...but real Jeeps have three pedals
this should get a rise outta the auto guys
I have 65XXX kms on my manual...no clutch issues what so ever

Auto was only option for me. Wife can"t drive a stick and refuses to learn
. So the only way to get the jeep was to get an auto. No biggie....with living in the city it is kinda nice to just sit back and drive instead of constatntly shifting in stop-and-go traffic. If I lived in a more rural area I would definitely want to have a manual though

had a manual Sahara, traded it (stupidly) for a manual Patriot. Now have an 08 automatic Sahara (great deal we couldn't pass up). If I had to choose, i'd pick the manual. The jeep we have now is mostly my wifes and I'm thinking on trading my f-250 in for a manual Rubicon. It just seems to give you more control over the engine's power (or lack of). Also, on steep hills, the auto seems to downshift too far and revs it's guts out.
