Automatic soft top
So I heard a rumor today that was quite interesting....this was from a dealer. He told me there is a re-design for the wrangler due in 2012 and one of the things they have looked at is putting an automatic yes AUTOMATIC soft top in!!!
I asked "How would that work?" He replied there would be a motor in the back that drove the top to pull it down that could be removed if deisred...?
Any thoughts?

Just one more thing to break. I seriously wish they'd worry about perfecting their current features rather than adding new unneeded crap.
On another note... redesign for 2012? Is Chrysler supposed to be completely "redesigned" by then? How can there be plans for anything when the general direction for the company hasn't been decided?

Its part of the jeep thing to have fold down your top and also be able to totally remove it

I sure as hell would never buy a jeep with one

motor would waste space, we dont need no stinkin motor, it takes a few minutes to lower big freakin deal
this would be the ultimate yuppy add that to me would ruin the wrangler for good
those idiots at the stealer ship no nothing about whats going on. and thats
one more thing that jeep would get wrong> they can't even fix the leaking tops i highly doubt they are going to make a power soft top for the lazy man of 2012. just my 2 $

I drove to work on wet seats and had to put my top (completely covered in wet mud) up in the dark this morning by myself in the parking lot where I work. My butt was wet and I was (still am) covered in mud. I would have it no other way

Yeah I wondered how to would work myself. Although everyone is right once you get it down it only takes a min to take the top off and put it back up...well ok maybe 3 min.
He also said that he thought as far as the future of the company that jeep would live on through whoever bought them and chrysler would likely die.

I would rather see them expand the features of the new hard top and make it more modular with more removable pannels. I would love to be able to remove the rear and side windows for example.
