Automatic soft top
Very interesting comments...I knew when that guy told me this and I posted on here...we could get some doozies.
The vid of the automatic soft top though kinda turned me off to the idea....at first I was like sweet!....but watching that thing on the YJ kinda makes me cringe.

If this ever becomes a "standard" feature (assuming Jeep survives the upcoming GM/Chrysler apocalypse... and it will, in one form or another), you can be sure that one of the first mods will be someone "manualizing" it back the way it SHOULD be.
I'm not resistant to progress or technology, but some things deserve to be preserved... if you want some comfy-cozy effete 4-wheeler, buy a fuggin Compass or Liberty.

Found this thread doing a little search after I saw Rugged Ridges post, didnt think it would go way back to 2009 though!!

Yes we have developed a power top for the 4dr JK (07-11)... What we previewed was our development prototype. Just unlatch the header and hit the power button... about 20 seconds and your top has been dropped....
Not for everyone but for those that have been wishing it really works like your standard power convertible top.
We also have a new line of bumpers coming out in the fall.... Been busy.

I see no problem with Jeep getting modernized. It's been happening for years. Compare a JK to a Cj-5 or a Willies. Imagine having a Willy as a daily driver.
I don't see how they could overcome the problem of the huge side and back windows though.
