northridge4x4 always has free shipping.

not having really noticed quadratec's shipping charges.....but the thing that made me stop ordering from them is the fact that the last four things i tried to order from them were out-of-stock, or on back-order. they don't tell you this at any time - not online, or an e-mail or anything. each time, i would wait a week or two, and when i hadn't heard anything, i would call and ask about it, only to then find out it is on backorder or whatever.

You are entitled to your opinion, but there are many people who will disagree. I have dealt with Quadratec on many occasions and have had positive experiences. Yes it is annoying that there is no "In Stock" tracking method, but the fact that they don't take your money until they ship your order speaks volumes about them. As for complaints about shipping charges, UPS and other shipping companies are constantly raising their costs due to the ever inflating price of fuel. I am glad I don't pay tax, plus they offer a Military discount, so they are usually right on par with price. If you do some legwork and call a rep, they can usually find a product in stock that fits your needs.

If someone doesn't like the price to ship -in most cases- steel or otherwise large items for their jeeps there are other hobbies with cheaper and lighter components. Shipping knitting supplys would be much cheaper than a steel bumper; for instance. Maybe it is just a matter of finding another hobby. I will continue to order from them and other suppliers as I have had good luck with them with the occassional small hickup.

Great avatar bsack.
If you look closely, companies that don't charge shipping end up making up for it elsewhere. It all evens out (for the most part. There are some companies I won't even look at because of their shipping policies -another story.) I'm much more interested in a place that will cater to my needs. Excellent service is first on my list, but good prices and no sales tax are way up there too.

back to the original point, Northridge4x4 doesn't charge shipping, things are packaged well and David guarantees the lowest prices you can find (and will match prices if you find lower ones)!!!

i don't know how he does it, but he does!

he also answers e-mails pretty much anytime between 7am and midnight (sometimes later)!!

edit: it is 7:28pm CST and David just called me to let me know something i ordered was going to be on back-order and wanted to know if i wanted to leave it on my order or take it off for now. let's see Quadratec do that!

I placed an order Sunday- a d-ring hitch receiver, recovery strap, husky liner for the front and two hats. $24.99 in shipping!!! I agree that the pricing for shipping is expensive and should be based on weight not price. I have always felt that an order after a certain amount should be free. In my office, we ship orders over $100 at no charge. I make it up in profit of procuct.

But then I also compared my items to 4WD Warehouse and three of the five items were $5 more at 4WD. So if I look at it that for my 5 items purchased each one cost me an additional $5, it makes more sense. But seeing that $24.99 added on is painful.

Either way, it was my choice to complete the order.
