I just ordered an 08 Rubicon on Saturday 8/4 and they told me that due to a bug with myGIG it has been on a suspension for a few months. They told me that they will be building the units with myGIG again starting in September. Just thought I would pass that on. Can't verify the accuracy of the comment.

 

Thanks! We love the MyGig, I think it was definitely worth it. It seems like everyday we find something else it can do! So far everything is great with our Rubi. The BB and spidertrac spacers are goin on this week, then hopefully we'll get to do some wheelin and break it in right! I'm will take some pics this weekend and post them.

 

Hello I'm new here but not new to Jeeps, I have a 1985 CJ7. I have a 08Wrangler on order and checked today, they said it is in G status. Does anyone know how long it takes about to ship from this status? just looking for approximate time

 

Wow! If you just ordered and you are already in G status consider yourself lucky!! DId you just order? I ordered mine on June 12 and am in D1 with a temp ship date of Aug. 14th (will believe it when I see it though)!

 

I ordered mine on june 22, The dealer told me since i ordered a 2dr that the wait will not be so bad. I ordered a 2dr Sahara.

 

Does anyone know if it's true that they are not currently producing Rubicons? I've read that in a few places. Just wanted to get anyone's thoughts.

I ordered my Rubicon Unlimited in early July and now I was told December.

 

No, it' not true. Yes, they are building Rubicons. However, since there was a backorder of 2007 Rubicon orders that were converted into 2008 orders, those will be built before the new 2008 Rubicon orders. 2008 Model Year production didn't begin until July 23rd. Since they aren't building very many Rubicons a day (28 at last count, hopefully that # has increased), it will take a while before they get to the new 08 orders. Just because it could be many months before your Rubicon gets built does not mean that they aren't building Rubicons.

Whoops I posted this on the '08 arrivals. Here goes...

I called Chrysler just now and found out that I am still in BG status. The woman on the phone also said that they had "contacted the dealership about that." When I spoke to the dealership last week they told me they are looking at mid-September to receive my Jeep since I ordered MyGig. I don't really beleive them since they are kinda dumb, but I am getting a good price so I won't give up on them just yet. Any thoughts?

 

Well, after all the delays I'm hearing due to the MyGig, I have decided to tell the dealer to take it out. Didn't want too, but i'm getting impatient. With MyGig it was looking like mid/end of Oct. Without it, ?? Time will tell if I made the right decision I have intensely been researching other options the past 2 days and decided to go with the Pioneer Avic-z2.. It seems more capable then Mygig, and a bit more $$ Anyone thinking about this as an option to get there JK faster?
