2008 Unlimited Rubicon ordered on 4/25.

Finally in "D" status after 3 weeks. I'm expecting at least 2 weeks for build and another 2 weeks to reach the dealer.

Does that sound about right?

 

my jeep has made it to KZM status. supposed to be at the dealership by May 29th.

so, what the heck is up with clutch? bad manufacturing? faulty throw-out bearing.? what the heck? i thought the JK is supposed to be rock solid

 

My dealer is stupid. I ordered on 04/29. So it's been about 3 weeks. Last time I checked it was in D status with an estimated delivery of 06/14. My VIN started working on the recall page of jeep's website. However it showed that it was a Rubicon Unlimited and not just a Rubicon. I figured there was a mix up with the VON or VIN numbers so I left my dealer a message last week.

I got a call today that the manager screwed up and ordered a 4 door. They put in the correct order today. So I'm now 3 weeks further behind. I have very little desire to take a 2008 in august when summer is almost over and the 2009s are available. I was going to tell them that but I figured I'll wait until they get it in before I tell them I don't want it.

I paid a $500 deposit when I ordered, and, tho I didn't ask, I figured that $500 is gone if I don't accept delivery of the vehicle (assuming it doesn't have any issues).

well, the saga continues with mine! I talked to CCC on Friday (5/16) and they had an update that est. build date was 5/15 (yes, the day before) but that it was still in D1 status so they didn't know what was going on.

Today I call and the update is that now there's no updated build date but it's still in D1 status and now has a est. shipping date of 6/2!? I asked specifically about a new build date and they said there wasn't a listed build date (but did try and tell me it will take 4-6 weeks for it to get delivered once shipped - yea right!).

This sounds quite fishy and I hate to say it but my patience is wearing thin... this sucks!

Oh well, maybe their will be some great June APR or something that will make it worth it.. and I guess this gives me a little more time to try and sell at least one of my current Jeeps so there's room for another one :p

 

Deposit is fully refundable by law. I gave them $100 to order

 

Did you do the work yourself for the BB lift, springs and bumper? Have my BB on order and figure I'll just do it myself since it's pretty much bolt on but still not 100% sure...

My word (above) is that I hate the wait :p... 11 weeks so far.. if they're right this time, looks like i'll get it after about 14 weeks. not as bad as the 2007 people at least, i guess!

 

i ordered a 2-door sahara with all options on 4/10 & soon after it went to d-1 status. it basically stayed there until last week on 5/13, which was the estimated build date. ccc never gave me any different code other that d & d-1. they did tell me at one time it was d-1 gateline for frame. another time after that was d-1 gateline for paint. friday they said kz & today kzl.

 

yes, did the work myself. Let me know when yours comes in and me and my nieghbor (envied4x4) will head over and corroborate our efforts. was'nt to bad. I am pretty sure we could give some time saving tips. If not will just help out .

 

My 2 door Rubicon (ordered 3-31) is on a train in southern Ohio today.
