.... oh those things that pop off every time you flex
zip ties nowThis morning Chrysler is recalling every single 2007-2010 Wrangler for a possible brake fluid leak caused by the inner fender liners.
Has anybody had this issue here? I have seen they are VERY close on mine, and could rub the hard line without much encouragement.

I check mine out last night when I got home from work. The inner liner isn't making contact to any of my brake lines, but one of the liners was slightly touching the frame rail right in front of the left rear tire. I bent it out of the way and it was worn completely through the paint and has worn a small notch directly into the steel frame rail
. I'm glad to see my brake lines are fine, but holy shit. I'm going to point it out to my dealer when I head in to get my recall taken care of. I'll just trim it and paint it then, but damn those liners can do some damage if they aren't properly aligned.

My front fender and liner are held on with zip ties. Why am i thinking that this is not going to be a free fix for me.
Is there a way to just cut part of the liner out to avoid this problem? I do not want to go to the dealership for anything considering WOLs post about getting flagged for having a lift and losing his warranty completly. Since I lifted my jeep I have not gone to the dealer for anything and wasnt planning on going.

This sounds weird to me.. What is the point of avoiding the dealer at all costs to save your warranty.. when you can't even go to the dealer to USE your warranty when you did decide you need it? Would you remove all your lift if you had a suspension problem or something? I think it doesnt really matter if you go there or not, once you lift, your suspension warranty is gone.
Edit: I wouldnt take my jeep in for a warranty claim for suspension since I have modifed it. I just dont trust them to honor the warranty on other stuff not connected to the suspension.
If I ever had a problem where I felt the warranty was needed and really needed (like major engine problem) I would simply remove the lift, throw on my old tires and then bring it to the dealer. I would never take it in for anything that wasnt major, I would either fix myself or have a family friend who is mechanic fix it and pay out of pocket. I dont trust chrysler or the dealer at all and from WOL's dealings with them, I gues I was right.

Took mine in for recall work and they got in an accident test driving it (I was at work at the time). Then the D-bags had the nerve to try to pawn it off on MY insurance. Ended up just cutting me a check to get it repaired myself instead of fixing it. Un-freakin' believable.

I don't have a warranty so I'm not worried about that but I'm think that they're gonna crap their pants when they see how I had to bend my brake lines to work with the "brake line relocates" that came with my lift. They work fine and are out of the way of things but when they seem that I bent them, I don't know what they'll say. Oh well, only one way to find out...and besides, what's the worst that could happen, they already crashed my Jeep once during recall work. (I'm not actually going to take it back to that "oh-so-wonderful" Ourisman Chrysler Jeep Dodge in Clarksville, MD or course. After all, I don't want my rig busted up for another 3-4 weeks while I wait for them to get their heads out of places my foot had to wind up)

I just relized you are in MD also. Thanks for naming the dealership, i'll never go there. Only Adams Jeep (Never been there but heard good things) or Herritage Jeep in Owings Mills (Been there and they are awesome and honest).
