Simply pointless. It doesn't matter whether you would win or not. You don't worry about what the Jeep will do on pavement or against another vehicle. It was purchased (hopefully) for what it is capable off road. I drive mine like a sports car and it runs as well as anything out there but I have no need to "beat" someone on the street.

I see a new Porsche and I think "yeah, but what's his ground clearance?"

No doubt: modern diesels rock. But note to Mr. Truck Nuts: please stop feeling so insecure about your choice of steed.
I agree. Diesel + Black Smoke = A$$hole

Guess you should do it if your real curious. The computer rev limits your motor, and it is unlikely you can hurt much with the power the 3.8 puts out.

But no matter what you put in it, it is not designed to be a dragster.

I'd be careful drag racing the JK, especially with the rear LSD. Super sticky track + sticky tires + hard launch = broken rear diff or axleshafts

I almost broke the Ford 8.8 and Eaton posi a few times in my Explorer; and those are strong units. Of course I was pushing twice the torque of the JK, but still.......

IMO race your JK once, let him beat you (as if you have to really "let him") with his rice tuner (or whatever he has) then turn things around on him, take him to the mud pit or the rocky trail and then say "ok now, lets play MY game!"
Or... let's see if your car can drive over my Jeep, then it's YOUR turn!

Racing with a JK?
I'm not surprised about that. Many members forgot what is a Jeep.
