They knew about the accident within an hour of it happening. It wasn't a holiday, or a weekend, the planets weren't misaligned. In the meantime i was borrowing cars, walking, hitchhiking, anything i could do to get to work. They where total assholes about the whole thing, and they where both insurance companies. Mine AND the jackass that ran into me. There was NO confusion or war between insurance companies. They dropped the ball, and refused to pick it up. they eventually got around to "allowing" me to get a rental car. for 5 days 5 DAYS??? it had ALREADY been almost 3 weeks by then, and I didn't get my truck back for 6 WEEKS. so they graciously offered to pay for 5 out of 42?!?!?!

None of that involves the headache they gave me about getting the thing fixed. It was barely above totaled by a few hundred bucks (far less than what they saved by not getting me a rental that I WAS INSURED FOR) and they wouldn't total it out. they insisted on repairing it. It looked pretty when it was done, but it was a complete piece of junk, it was twisted beyond realignment, it ate tires like crazy, wouldn't track right, the transmission bound, the drivers door & window wouldn't operate correctly, and it was getting progressively worse the longer i drove it. etc. etc. etc. I spent a bunch of time getting to "know" Geico in the courts system. They can kiss my ass, i will never recommend the bunch of lying thieving bastards to anyone.
We've had three no fault accidents over the last six years. Each time Geico was already at the body shop WITH our rental. Something ain't addin up.

...and just for the record, our rates have not gone up.

I am glad you didnt have any problems with them.
On my end it may or may not have been the local adjuster/agent. I dont care, as I wont bother them with my buisness again to discover that.

I hear what you're sayin. Whenever I have a similar experience, I too avoid the source. If they ever do us like that, I'll be lookin, but they have treated us fine so far.
