Since I have been using the whistles the dear are always running away from the road when I see them.

To more or less confirm the speed theory the only times I actually had them still in the road are the times I was stuck behind someone going under 35 MPH.

There is no way they would put them on at the factory. That would be a lawsuit waiting to happen. If you would hit a dear with you car the first thing everyone would do is go after the car manufacturer. and as I said if you do not drive fast enough they are not effective.
Well, you musta flunked outta english cause I was agreeing with you.

Here's my .02. On a motorcycle, you can hear them make noise at speed. Many deer infested states like Ohio and others, many of the county sherrifs and state boys have them on their cruisers.

DON'T WORK!!!!!! WASTE OF MONEY

I would love to see that clause with Geico and actually see someone's insurance papers stating a rebate because a person has these USELESS WHISTLES!!!!

My pop's had them on his pick-up and guess what??? He hit 2 deer on his rural road commute to work in Alberta, Canada.

You think a whistle is going to work with a Buck in rut on the hot heals of a doe in heat???? I don't think so!!!! That buck in the rut....he will have his head down trotting looking for one thing some TAIL!!! Do you actually think a vehicle with these whistle's will give a buck in rut a warning & heads-up.....and stop him and make him look both ways before he crosses the road?????? Not a chance!!!!

I have seen this on backcountry, country rural & forestry roads and a buck in rut will cross that road several times chasing or looking for TAIL during pre-rut and rut season. It does not matter if there is a vehicle approaching they don't stop!!!!! No whistle is going to stop a BUCK in rut UNLESS it's a doe in heat or bleat call!!!!

You said that already. If you don't think they work, don't buy um. They are way cheaper than an insurance deductible.

That is correct I have stated the same comments already....However, in another THREAD regarding deer whistles.

Since you stated it in this thread I just have to know.........How much are you saving on Geico insurance stating you placed these deer whistles on your vehicle????? If you are saving a pile of money on your insurance people should know.

Also, if these deer whistles are so effective in warning deer.......why are the car maker's not placing these on vehicles for personal safety?????

They don't work with my pop's experience and I have not used them in any of my vehicles and with 22 years of driving in deer country no deer hits! So, Deer Whistles are a waste of money.

If I hit a deer oh well....accidents happen that's what insurance is for....but if I can save money on insurance using these deer whistles.......I maybe interested.

Why can't you state what you are saving on deer whistles with your insurance company????? Why such a big secret???? I highly doubt you are saving any money with your insurance company with your deer whistles.

So....if in fact you are saving money on insurance with deer whistles....why not tell other members or other people of the public you are getting $$$ or % rebate on insurance with deer whistles??? I know people like to save money and any rebate on car insurance would be a bonus.

However,I can tell you right now with 3 insurance companies I have been with over the years.....ZERO rebates for having these useless items.

It's no secret at all. Not all insurance companies do it, but I've been with the same one for over 11 years. They knock off 3%. Couple that with my multi car 5% discount and my 5% safe driver discount plus the 5% they knock off for taking a safe driving course every three years and it adds up. I was merely saying that I couldn't speak for YOUR insurance company. that's between yall.
