Default The Problem.

Ok so basically here it is:

As of now i am only 19 so i am still taken care of by my parents and until now everything of mine for my jeep was bought by my parents. I understand alot of people would consider that very spoiled but please try to look past that.

At this point i have a 07 black sahara with 5' of lift and 35's. Its pretty set up but i cant help but really wish i had a rubicon instead at this point. My 16 year old brother is just beginning to drive this year and my parents are planning on buying him a new jeep as well. So today i made and offer to him and he accepted. I offered that because i want a new rubicon, i told him i would give him my jeep and i would get a new ruby. The benefit to me is that i would have a new ruby... but i would have to drive it with no lift or anything for a while which i am ok with.

As of now i owe 18-19k on my sahara i think. Where my new rubicon would be pushing 32k.

My question is, if any of you were in my shoes...would you give the sahara away and get the new ruby without all the gadgets and gizmos and start on a fresh slate? or would you stick with what you had and continue building? Although the sahara would be cheaper and it already has a good bit done to it... a new ruby would just be a perfect new slate to srestart on. and im going to be leaving for oaklahoma here within a couple months to FAA school so a stock ruby would not only be better on gas time being. but i would also be starting at zero miles on it again.

Anyway i realise my problem is petty, but i would really like to know what you guys would think given my choice... thanks in advance...

Zack.

heres a pic of it as of now. Would basically be giving this away and starting fresh on a ruby.

oh and also... another good thing... when i bought this i actually wanted a hard top with an automatic but this was all they had at the lot without ordering. So when i order the new ruby i would be getting that as well. so take that into consideration.

Besides the Hard top and Auto, what else is it about the rubi? Granted the Sahara has the dana 30 in the front the the New Dana 30 is the old Dana 44. So it is stronger then the old dana 30's. \

KEEP IT

why would you advise against a lifted vehicle? its only 5 inches. and its not fast. It is only more safe than a car. When i switched from my bmw to my jeep my insurance went way down.

So noone would get the ruby at all? strange... i wasnt expecting that lol. But i can always make my ruby just as nice. my step dad is the regional manager for 4wheelparts. so its easy for me to get new stuff. it will just take a lil more time to build the ruby back up.

*looking past the spoiled part*

I think you should appreciate what you have and take damn good care of it.

I really see no point at this stage in trading vehicles. For just a few more thousand dollars you could have the front/rear D44s with lockers and even the swaybar disconnect. All from from MOPAR. Hell, soon you'll be able to get the D60 rear end.

Default Keep what you have

You're lockers & swaybar disco away from being way better than a rubi - you're too far in!!

Now, more spec's on the person in the driver's seat please!

I am also 19 and have had my (2nd) jeep purchased for me by my father. Strangely, i also live in florida. Considering your setup is ideally what I'd be looking for in the long run, I would keep it. The only justification I can offer is that you'll miss the painted fender flares.
