The Problem.
i would really appreciate it =D
I was just looking to get some opinions on the jeep. I think its pretty upsetting that there are so many jeepers so fast to form an opinion of me and the way my family is before they know all of the details.
i really would appreciate it if someone could just give me an idea of why they would chose a ruby over mine or why they wouldnt. Im just looking for helpful information on why or why not a ruby would be the way to go, and i would be more than thankful.

Again you do not know my wife's story, nor do you do know mine. I am sorry that i am lucky enough to have parents that are here to help me begin my life the right way rather than shoot me on my way an hope for the best. As of now my scholarships pay for everything i need other than a car as does my wife's. are future will begin when the time is right and i trust my god will take care of me as he has in the past until it does. I realize that i am a little old to be taken care of at this point, but as of now thats how my mom sees it fit, and i am not going to rush into life recklessly so that i cant say i was lucky when i was a child.
In my opinion, you have a nice set up... but if you are not happy with, go with what you want. Unfortunately, people are jealous by nature and when they see someone with something they wish they had, many become combative. IGNORE THEIR COMMENTS, get the jeep you want.
well im 19 with a jeep from my dad and live in florida too.
your jeep is pretty sweet tho. but i do have a rubi and i love it. im always surprised what i can get throught and a upgraded x or sahara cant. that being said i think its all the lockers, the electo disconect is nice to have to, altho in no way needed. if your gonna get a differnt lift no matter what, and your brother likes your i say get a new one, get something youll love and keep forever!

I agree 100% no one here knows you and your wife's story, and it is no ones buisness. Seriously I would love to have someone pay for my Jeep add ons. I really would, and I am no being a smart ass.
I am 25 and I moved out when I was 18 (my choice). I now have my own house and a full time career but I worked for it and busted my ass. Sometime I wish I live home. The money I could have
Take your time in finding out what you want to do. Take trips with your wife. Go and see the world before all the bullshit in life kicks in like a mortgage, a career, and other stuff. HAVE FUN and if people don't like YOUR life style then F' them.
My question before was besides the Hardtop and Automatic.
Why do you want a rubicon?

Thanks guys i really appreciate the comments. Thats exactly what i was hoping to get.
Hey weinaug, Those step rails, did you get those put on when you were buying your jeep or did you add them after? I have the same ones on my jeep but normally you dont see rubicons with those. I love them though. Very nice jeep. thats exactly what i want =D

You wonder why I don't recommend a lifted vehicle for a 16 year old.
Most fatal crashes with 16-year-old drivers (77%) involved driver errors, especially the kind most common among novices. Examples: speeding, overcorrecting after veering off the road, and losing control when facing a roadway obstacle that a more mature driver would be more likely to handle safely. That's the highest percentage of error for any age group.
Any lifted vehicle is more prone to amplify these very errors. I'm not saying anyone is a bad driver, however experience counts for a great deal - I believe that you should learn to drive without mods first to test your limits and as you get better (experienced) make things more challenging.

I was going to skip past this thread, but man, am I glad I read it. Cuz I've got shit to say.
First of all, I am not coming at this post with any feelings of jealousy or bitterness toward you or your family. As a matter of fact my folks helped me a lot when I was younger. They paid for me (and supported me morally) when I went to acting school, they let me move home while I was trying to build my career, and tons of other things, so I will be the first to admit I was spoiled in my youth. I now have a beautiful wife, an awesome son, a good dog, a nice house, a Jeep on the way, and I get to pursue and maintain a the life of an actor so I still consider myself spoiled. That being said...
I am sure you love your Jeep, so much that you are more than willing to just let it go to your brother so you can replace it. That's love.
I am glad your insurance went down after you got rid of the Beemer for the Jeep. I am sure that was a big concern and perhaps a deciding factor in your parent's purchase of the JK.
Personally, I think you should let your brother get the Ruby, with the lift, Toyos, and Rockstars. You should learn your lesson and have to "settle" for a $40,000 jeep.
On a side note, I have worked my ass off to barely afford an X that is going to remain stock until I can earn the cash for mods and I would rather have my X than your built up Sahara or your brother's, soon to be, not so stock Rubi. Why? you ask, because the sweat, odd jobs, and penny pinching makes the love I have for my Jeep that much sweeter. Try it some time.

I'm glad my father paid for my jeep, and can only hope to do the same for my child.
I'm curious as to why you want an automatic? I love having a manual and can't see myself drivng anything else. Ever.
