radar detector poll!
If it's fair for the Statie's to write me up for 52 points, & 3 suspensions in the first 5 years I was driving...Well then it's fair enough for me to know when they are shooting it at me.
I paid my tickets, every single one. I gave up my license and paid to have it renewed as new each time (over $100 in PA) each time. I stood in line at the DMV, and paid their court costs, even though I never took it to court. I took the point-test, paid outrageous insurance annual premiums as a result.
Heck, I even slowed down and bought some clunky old school 4x4's that just can't go that fast. Now I get my kicks on the other side of the little white line.
I can't tell you the last time I used the detector, but you can bet I'm keeping it.

I usually run my Valentine 1 in the IS350. I put a mount in the Jeep for it so I could switch it easily and quickly between vehicles.
However, the 50% tint on the Jeep's windshield does hurt performance a bit.

I have one:

Hard to tell here.. but from the driver's perspective, you can see the entire screen on the RD.

There is a spot on I-65 north of Birmingham, AL that drops from 70 down to 55 then after a few miles goes back to 70. It is in the middle of nowhere... no homes or business, nothing but fields and trees. I was in my MINI Cooper at the time and using that same Beltronics RD and never saw the trooper on the detector. He must have been using the VASCAR method. Besides that one time, my detector has worked just fine and usually detects them miles away even in hilly terrain.
On another note... I really enjoy the flamers on here who preach to us how they are perfect angels and that they never speed... even on accident. And that if we own a Radar Detector that we are some kind of douche bag law breaker. Put away your pre-conceived ideas please... anyway, enough of my bitching.
