Default stalled out won't restart

I drove through a puddle on the road from melting snow that was about 8" deep and my 2013 JK stalled out and wont restart. Water came up onto the hood. I thought maybe it was fuel because my light was on so I put enough in to shut the light off. Still won't start.

Have you considered the possibility of a hydrolock?

Can't see that it would be. It rolls when I turn the key. Just doesn't fire.

Did you pull out the air filter and check the oil for water? Best case you have some wet electronics that need to dry, worst is hydrolocked..

An 8" puddle caused water to come up over the hood? Are you saying that it splashed up on the hood or that the hood was somehow submerged?

Did you check the air filter? The position of the JK air intake leaves it vulnerable to hydro lock when splashing through puddles.did you try to start it today?

I tried it today. Still no go. It's at the dealer right now. The puddle splashed up over the hood when I drove through it. Why would they make the air intake such that it's so easy to hydro lock? That just seems messed up. How do I fix that when I get it back?

I'm not convinced you're hydrolocked since it's still cranking. The usual procedure when an engine cranks but doesn't actually start is to check the big three: Spark, fuel and air. And air is usually a given. Did you check those?

Regardless, the answer to your question is a snorkel.

Still, Jeeps without snorkels take on some pretty deep water (skip to 38 seconds if you're in a hurry) ...

Guessing you hit a puddle going fast and water splashed all over under the hood.

Dealer will most likely said your #4 coil pack is fried (shorted out) and they won't cover it under warranty because it was caused by "off roading" your trail rated Jeep....Stupid I know, already been there.
