These are the pics that came up when I googled "GM looking to compete with Wrangler". A stretch from the pic above. The article stated the vehicle hasn't been given a go for production. There also aren't any details on specs. As for styling, it looks good. Now, if they get the power train and chassis set up right, they could compete, but still, it will be hard for any vehicle to carry Jeep heritage.
I know this thing is stamped "Hummer" on the grill, but again, according to the article, GM wants something along the Hummer line as it's the closest vehicle, next to a Jeep to bring military-civilian use. Gotta admit, looking at it, has a high mount air intake, stubby bumpers, recessed lights, center mounted license plate carrier.
It doesn't take a genius to create something good. But it takes just one moron to kill a good idea. All depends on the marketing and business teams, then onto the financial dept. they get a platform going past those guys, it will move to production. My opinion is, if it gets that far, GM will price it out of range for the general Jeep buyer. Hell, Rubicon is already too expensive for many to consider.

While GMC is busy putting a Thor costume on what looks like a gussied up Chevy Orlando,
I'm paying attention to Chevrolet, a company that could actually bring back an offroad-competent vehicle in the form of the new Colorado ZR2 concept.
If they could do a new 2-door/4-door Blazer based on the Colorado ZR2 concept, just take my money... all of it!
