Have a chance to buy a 2008 jk rubicon with 32,000 miles ,six speed soft top. A/c ,power windows,Needs tires, and has been beet up a little on the inside from owners dog. The outside has some small dings and scratches from some offloading.
Would you pay 19,000 for a jeep like this or pass?I intend to lift the jeep and put 35-37 under it.

KBB has that valued in fair condition at $19200 so it seems ok but really depends on overall condition of vehicle.

I paid 17750 for a 2007 X with 38000 miles so for 6000 miles less a year newer and a rubicon I would think its a pretty good deal. I would try to get them down of course I got mine down from 22000 original asking price... You can use the tires and the other stuff to bring the price down even though you would replace them anyways.

Thumbs up

I have one thing to say to you, but it's censored on the forums. I would say it's a good deal, but you can get them down a little more if it's priced at 19K.

I paid 18K for my '08 JKU Sahara 6-speed, all those options, but mine's 2WD.

Look for anything that appears non-stock, then ask why it was replaced. I've learned a hard lesson recently. I only wish I knew about this resource before my purchase.

I woudn't. For about $8000 more you could get a new one just like that with good tires, warranty, and clean inside. It's it's strictly a money issue then I would think about it I guess.

If it looks beat up pass on it. You can get into a new Sport for $23-24k, and have a full warranty. You can finance a new Jeep longer than a used one so the payments won't be that high.

For a Rubicon its a fair price, but haggling wouldn't hurt. Crawl underneath with a flashlight and take a good look for scuffs, rips, knocks, dents, drips, whatever. Use is fine, but walk away or negotiate harder if you see signs of abuse.
