3/8 torque wrench w/ socket set 25$
Oil Catch pan 5$
75W90 Gear oil 30$
.
.
Knowing I didn't get ripped off by the dealership...... Priceless!!!!

x2...Did my first diff change with the help of the forum write-up. Good opportunity to learn something new and save a few bucks

Yup, did mine recently too...

Had a leaky RTV seal, so I picked up some lube locker gaskets and solved the problem without having to go to the dealer.

Eastcoast dealer wanted $220, it was easy to reply I'll do it myself. Can someone paste the write-up link, I need which diff oil spec to buy. Cheers

Here you go. Took me 45min to 1 hour tops to change both diff's and this included having a

I used 75W90 Royal Purple and is what Wayoflife used. Some people went a thicker oil in the rear if they were pulling a trailer.

Im getting ready to do this as well, how do we know if we need to the additive for the rear diff?

Is there something I should look for on my window sticker?

If you have a limited slip rear diff, then you need an additive IF using traditional oil. Full-synthetic oil does not require an additive. Someone correct me if I'm wrong

Thats what I thought. Thanks. It would say if I had the limited slip on the window sticker right?

you're correct on this. synth oil does not require the additive.
