If your lights have never gone solid when using the lockers in 4LO before this mod, you had something going wrong. Don't know if you can have the dealer diagnose it now with the mod tho. Sounds like an electrical gremlin only, since you've had your lockers working.
So here's the story... and you have come pretty close to hitting the nail on the head. I got under it today and jacked the rear end up and played around w/putting it in 4lo w/the factory switch turning on the lockers... as well as played around w/4hi and 2hi and 4lo w/my manual switches. In all cases, you can hear the relays turning on and the lockers are locking. Even though the lockers are locked (using the factory switch) in 4lo, the indicator light only blinks... never goes solid. When I use my manual switches, nothing at all on the dash comes on... but the lockers do lock. So I stopped by the shop that did my gear swap and talked to him... he said he has another Rubicon that is doing the same thing. He's thinking that the indicator switch probably needs to be shimmed out a touch. He believes when the disk around the locker moves when the locker engages and therefore moves the indicator swtich... that the indicator switch is not moving out fully... and therefore probably needs to be adjusted. He's gonna look into it more and I may stop by over there on Friday and he'll throw my Jeep on the rack and play around with the indicator switch a little (probably try and back it out a little from the pumpkin) to see if he can get the lights to stay on solid.

Default Adding switch to turn off esp long term

Bofer84's, thank you for the write up. 2nd easest mod completed. What a difference. Only change I made was to splice in farther down to hide under the battery box and use pin connectors on the ground. Hopefully this way stealerships will really have to look to see the mod. I have the lifetime power train and want it to keep it.

Only real question is there a way to turn off the esp long term? When using the lockers in high you have to hit the switch when you go to low the esp stays off but from low to high or retsrting after a stall it resets. Is there a way to add a toggle to the esp circuit that turn it off until you want it turned back on with out lossing other fuctions like antilock brakes?

So when you do this mod, the stock button works, and the switch works?? I have an x with rear locker, and yes we have that same switch as the rubi.

the new switch will lock your locker when it is flipped "on" (without touching the oem switch). when the new switch is left in the "off" position, the oem switch functions to lock your locker normally.
