is a locker the same as a diffferential lock? Does any one know where to get switch covers, like for missile switch in top gun? I would think it could be bad if my Kids hit the switch while I'm going doing the interstate.

Autozone carries the Pilot brand switches with the covers. I know you can find them online all over the place.

Default Are Relays Neccessary?

I was thinking about this last night...
If the factory switch is only breaking the path to ground through the ECU why do we need a relay?
I'm sure there is no 'load' going to ground. Also a relay wouldn't change the function if it were signalized.
So if tapping into the purple wires and running a relay off of a switch to control the path to ground is how this thing works.
Why do we need a relay?

I think he did the relay so that his locker switches would light when activated. I believe somewhere in these 6 pages, it is mentioned that you can just tap the wire with a switch, but I think you are applying ground to the switch, not interupting it.

Correct im using a lighted switch, so i had to use a relay. You can just use two wires and any switch and it will work However, i am actually in the process of working with John, over at Spod to see if he can come up with something for me Im basically going to go the Spod route, and switch my switches over to the Spod

All I do is flip my switches and they engage. No need for your step 2. I have a switch for each locker.

I dont think the locker will lock just by turning your switch ON...

i don't have to use the stock switch either. the new switch works by itself.

Maybe this makes the switch work by itself???
nope. the power only goes to the switch. i have the relay wired (the way that has been diagrammed at the beginning of this thread) so that a ground is still the only thing that is applied to the locker control wire. if i were to unplug the power wire that sends power to the light, the switch would still function the exact same way.

the relay only functions to prevent that positive power signal from being sent to the locker control wire.
