I have the 2dr. I did this relo with the exception of replaceing the hose.( I kinked the hose it is very rigid) i used gates 5/8 fuel hose, one 24 in piece and one 10-12 in. piece and 4 clamps. the total install with bolts nuts and washers in stainless, cost me less than 10.00 and I have been running this for about a month and wheeled the redtrail and hell every other trail at the badlands and have prolly 2000 miles on it no problems whatsoever

A relocate of some variety seems a no brainer to me. It seems that Chrysler just stuck it where it is as an "oh gosh, we forgot about it and wow, here's an unused spot to put it". My first one cracked bad on just a regular paved road trip by a flying rock ($200 thank you Chrysler). A skid plate seems, well.......silly. The Evap shouldn't even be there and there seems to be better unused spots that could protect it even better than a plate. hence.......smart relocates like this one. Besides the cost of a skid plate, is there any good reason to keep it where it is and NOT to relocate it? Potential warranty issues?

Yes, i did the mod, the only problem I had was with the plastic hose from the gas tank. I had to try running it a couple different ways in order not to get any kinks in it. Does the job. Im glad I did this mod, my friend just destroyed his playing around behind his house (stock JK). Was not happy with the service bill.Originally Posted by sin52
Did you do the mod yet?

I was looking at skid plates but decided to climb under the jeep and fiddle around 1st. I figured hell if it don't work I'd order a skid plate. Coupla free bolts and washers and some locktite later, still working great.Originally Posted by hvilla
