Default D-Ring Silencers (Stop The Clank)

One of the annoyances I have when wheeling in the mud is the D-ring/Shackles clanking around. With this clanking, you will not be able to here any loose or broken part problems with your Jeep.

Well thanks to the BallCock Shank Washer, (LOL) I was able to prevent the D-Rings from clanking. Sorry for the bad camera pix...

You may need to file them down a bit, but they work and look great!

Great minds... great minds...

I have nearly the same setup on mine, my stepfather was a plumber/pump repairman so i have stacks of old plumbing stuff, found some old rubber grommets that look very similar and have them on mine. (Only difference is i have my pins ziptied so they wont rotate out and go missing)

I used an old set of mountain bike handlebar grips and cut them to fit. They work perfect.

The ARB 3/4 D-rings fit. You can get them from Quadratec http://www.quadratec.com/products/92144_301.htm.

One thing I notice when I got my Mopar bumpers was the D-ring holes weren’t properly cut. The Hole were imperfect. I used my dremel to grind a perfect 3/4 hole and repainted with Satin Black Rustoleum.

With these, do the D-rings still clank when you hit a bump? I have been using rubber washers I got from the plumbing dept. at a hardware store (about $0.40 each so $1.60 per shackle mount). It stops any side to side clanking but not the up/down clanking, which really only happens when I hit speed bumps.

But I'm curious to know if these stop all clanking.
