I found everything I needed at lowes. Platic gutter guard was 4. Zip ties 3 and mounting blocks 8. Total of ~ 15 and looks sweet! Use super glue or gorilla glue for extra hold

Default Great protection from 5/8" stone(A gravel)

Alright so here is my deal, i did this mod about a month ago, i used the gutter guard from home depot, the metal chromeish one, zip ties and guerilla glue. looked mint, i had to glue the gutter guard straight to the back of each hole in the faceplate. this made it extra sturdy, it is a good thing because yesterday(thursday) morning i was travelling on a 80km/h highway going north and a dump truck was going south. this guy had a full load of gravel and he didnt have the latches down on his back gate, thus sending all kinds of stone hurtling into oncoming traffic without knowing it. Tha said, i trie to get around it but in the end they got me, Broken windshield, scratched/dented hood, front grill, headlights. So i stopped. pulled a U turn, and tracked him down and pulled him over in my 2010 jk, with less than 10,000km on it. gave him shit and took pics. The company is going to pay for the damage, and its giong to cost 2,400 $ .

MY POINT HERE IS, SPEND THE 30$ AND DO THIS MOD, IT SAVED ME FROM HAVING MAJOR DAMAGE STOPPING STONES FROM FLYING INTO MY RAD. GLUE THE SHIT OUT OF IT, AND MY SUGGESTION IS, BUY A METAL ONE. THEORY: PLASTIC I BRITTLE IN THE WNTER AN WOULDNT STOP A ROCK GOING 80KM/H IN A MILLION YEARS IF IT CAME DOWN TO IT.

ENOUGH SAID

thanks for taking the tme to read this and i hope this post makes it around!

have fun wheelin boys and girls its finally the weekend!!

Sorry to hear about your incident with the dump truck. Good thing you were able to track him down and that they are going to cover the damages.

wow, what a crap thing to happen! I can usually NEVER track them down,,,,nor prove that it was them, "Deny Deny, Deny!", so many companies would never admit to it. Way to go dude!

Just finished this mod. I used the roll of plastic gutter material. Spent less than $20 and only took me a couple of hours. I think the expanded metal would be more durable but this will work just fine. Here's some before and afters. Thanks for everyones post to help me along.

Beetle Bailey you did a great job it looks amazing. I picked up everything I need last week and plan to do this today or tomorrow. So glad I took the plastic gutter roll route as its so inexpensive and looks so damn good.
Plus no hardware stores in my area sell expended aluminium and theres no way I'm using steel.

Used those same clips and had to use super glue. They kept popping off. No problems now.
