Grill Mod
I used the gutter guard roll from Lowes (Stupidly Home Depot didn't have it of all places) and I used Elmer's industrial glue I had here. Big mistake it expanded lifting the cubes off the grille! Luckily I caught this in the middle of curing and pushed it down. Whenever it pops out, I will use Gorilla Glue.

heres mine. screwed up and cut a piece wrong, (it was one of those alum kick screens, painted with rubberized under vehicle paint, turned out GREAT) and one slat has diamonds facing the wrong way. lol i gotta take the grill off this week to install a hood lock anyway. im still trying to fab something up that allows me to unlock it without having a hole in the mesh. maybe a secret spring loaded cable in the fender. i dunno yet. anyway heres pics. if i didnt screw it up (was at work, so i had to rush it) it would be perfect. attached with 1x1inch tiedown blocks, with double bubble. the white specks in the last picture are just from the rain. edit: damn sorry new iphone 4 takes gigantic pictures lol

My first "do it yourself" mod!
I have follow "brattwurzt" idea (see his post!) tone of credit! THANK YOU!
I did this last weekend, works great, easy to clean and maintain!

Just got my expaned metal today. Took me running all over town and stopping at about 5 different shops to find it. I chose to go with the expanded metal instead of the gutter guard cause I just prefer that look and think it'll hold up better when a tree limb or something hits it. Just need to go get the zip-ties (I don't think the ones I have are UV resistant), the caliper paint for the metal, the blocks and the epoxy to hold the blocks in place.
Will post pics of my process from before to during to after when I get all the supplies.

Got mine done this weekend, been kinda lazy with uploading the pictures tho. I went with the expanded aluminum because as you'll see the person who owned the jeep before me tried to do it with that screen mesh stuff and jacked it all up. I figured it'd be worth the effort to get it done right.
That's what it looked like before.
This was the back side of the shoty job. As you can see it was done in seven strips and the blocks didn't hold at all.
This is after I've removed the screen mesh, and all the blocks that were still stuck to the grill. I used J.B. Quick, to attach the new blocks.
After I've attached the expanded aluminum.
Final product. Looks much better than that screen mesh stuff. Plus this will actully stop a rock when it hits the grill. The spots in the bottom left and top right are where the paint was still wet when I flipped it over and sprayed the other side, I'm gonna mask the grill and fix those this weekend.
In my opinion go with the expanded aluminum instead of the mesh. It may be harder to find and possibly a little more expensive, but you'll get out of your jeep what you put into it.
I can't believe how old this thread is and how many people have done this mod.
I performed mine this weekend using the roll of black plastic gutter gaurd from Lowes. I used the Lock-Tite for plastic adhesive and it worked great. Can't believe how good this looks. Best part about it was that my whole family worked together on the mod. My son and I removed the grill while my wife and daughter worked removing the adhesive pads from the cable tie blocks. After it was all done and the grill was reinstalled we all hoped in the jeep and headed for ice cream!

Glad this topic is still goin. It helped me out. Here's mine:
Supplies from Home Depot:

1 Spray Can
2 Bags of Tie Blocks
1 Bag of Zip Lines
1 Gorilla Glue
2 Sheets of Expanded Aluminum
All came to ~$30

Sprayed it up. Cut an extra piece since the one pre cut is a tad bit short.

Get the tie blocks and zip lines together. Added some Gorilla Glue under the tie blocks and around the expanded aluminum. Gave it about 30 minutes for the glue to sink in.

Viola!

Finale!
Thank you guys =)
