Help removing decals
Hmmm ... here I go re-viving an old thread. I don't have an "X" sticker ..mine says "Rocky Mountain" ....
I was thinking that I should remove it ..but then people will think I have a Sahara ...

I owned and operated a sign and graphics business for 7 years until recently when I sold the business to a friend of mine. The easiest way to remove decals is to just peel one corner of the decal with your fingernail, then once you have some of the decal pulled up, just peel the rest of the decal off very slowly. If the decal is stubborn, you can use a heat gun on the LOW setting, but do not use the gun too close to the decal. This will lossen up the glue for removal. After the deccal is removed, the best glue remover is WD40. If you wish to remove the Trail Rated Badge or JEEP Badge, the easiest removal method would be with fishing string. Put the fishing string flush with the vehicle surface and use a sawing motion up and down or back and forth as you slowly move across the area between the Badge and the vehicle surface. The residue from the double stick tape that remains after the removal of Badges, can be removed by rubbing it with your fingers and it will roll off of the vehicle surface.
Has anyone done this successfully on a 2010 yet? I'm asking because i know the visor stickers are much more difficult (if not impossible) to remove. Before I rip that silly 'Sahara' sticker off I want to know if anyone else has wrecked their paint first.
I finished taking off my badge and wrangler stickers yesterday. They peel off easy if you park it in the sun and let it bake for a little bit. The badge was more of a pain in the ass. Had to use fishing string and finally got it. I just used a little time and elbow grease to get the remaining glue off. I did find it helpful to use a towel with hot water and soap to get the left over glue off.
The "SPORT" came right off and didn't even leave any glue behind. "WRANGLER" took a little more work and left some glue. I used Goo Gone for the rest. Worked great.
