Hood Light Bar / Accessory Mounts
So huge delay, especially for those picture hungry vultures; just kidding. The bondo brand spray crap was horrid. I had to remove all of it today from the parts and went to get new paint. so Delay.. I hope Bondo brand undercoating gets in a firey car crash. Other than that, i'll get back to you guys tomorrow probably.

So parts have been repainted. I did go with duplicolor and used a self etching primer... so in about 4 hours assembly will begin. in the mean time im heading to the depot to look for bolts to replace the ones that are currently holding the hood to the car ( you'll need just a little bit longer of ones for a solid grab). No need for pictures i felt though. its painting.
Finally, done. Well, not the lights yet, but for the photo vultures, this is something to look at. Anywoo, here's the rest of the build...
So i sprayed everything with a semi gloss black and it came out nice. After it dried up i figured that i would assemble most everything off the jeep so i wouldn't be working on my jeep with metal/tools.
I first assembled what will be the holder bracket for the tools. As you can see below, pretty self explanatory...

I then took the angle bar out to the jeep and centered it up again. I made marks with some white out where the L brackets will go and came back in to assemble.

Once the L brackets were on the angle bar i took it out to the jk to double check the holes and make sure i wasn't off. Which, i was slightly....

At this point i had removed one of the hood bolts to check length and see if i'd need longer ones for better grab. Of course, i did. I believe they were 8mm 1.25 x 40mm. So had to go buy those too. While i had the angle bar on for double checking I figured out how/ where i'd have to make cuts to remove a small portion of the lower part of the angle bar in the middle to allow the windshield spray to not be obstructed.

From here i made the last remaining hole resizing to fit, then went back inside to assemble the rest of the hood bar.

And once it was all assembled and such, i tossed it on the JK and was very pleased.

So yep, there it is, minus i have to go get an axe to mount as well, and then i'll start the lights when i get a chance next. Any questions kids?

I think it's really looking nice.
I keep a shovel in the back already, but I could see doing something like this for a hi-lift. I'm curious how the view is. I don't imagine it gets in the way unless you are pretty short. Problem is that my wife is 4'11" so something like that may get in the way. I'll have to check it out while driving tomorrow.
Oh yeah... x2 on what Rubimon said. Smoothing the corners out would clean it up a lot, but it still looks good as is.
