Mounted mine to the plastic 6 months and no issues so far. May eventually mount it to the metal but we will see.

 

Where are y'all finding the mounts?? I've looked at home depot but they don't have them, I found them online just didn't wanna order them

I happened to be in Cabela's 2 weeks ago, so I picked up the 2D LED Maglite and the mounts for the seat. Put the kit on last weekend. On Friday morning I was putting the light back in the mounts after using it and both mounts shattered like they were made out of dry spaghetti!! Not impressed, but for 5 bucks what did I really expect? Does anyone else make these mounts that are a little more durable?

 

They sell a maglite brand at Ace as previously mentioned $6, u can find them on eBay too same price free shipping. My 5 yo has accidentally stepped on the flashlight numerous time trying to get to the back seat and they held up, did not break or shatter..





I'll try to get a better picture of it close up...

 

Sportsmans warehouse, basspro, and Walmart has. In Walmart it's in camping area next to all the flashlights

 

Not all Wal-Mart's will have them, you may need to hunt a bit. Ace Hardware had them near me

 

this looks awesome and I am thinking about doing it.... my question is that I have a 6D maglite... its pretty ridiculous but you never know when you could need to defend yourself from random woodland creatures...

but I guess I will have to monkey with the location to make sure it is in a spot that wont get hit from the front or back...
