If I'm not mistaken (I read this a few years ago, and going from memory now)
The black wire still is the ground, but its fed through the amber light up front. This is why it blinks, because while its blinking, you are cutting off the ground (interrupting the current).

Did it this morning in about 15 min.

What did people do to the other end of the marker cut black wire. Did you leave it hanging or wrap it in electrical tape? Thanks.

Not sure if anyone mentioned this but the UK imported JK comes with this already done. Don't know why they didn't have it on the ones back home.

I just taped it down to the outside of the white wire and slid the plastic boot back over it. I also taped up the spliced connector too as an added precaution to keep dirt out.

ok, looks and sounds like a easy quick and awesome mod for the Jk! I gotta get this done this weekend, after cutting the black wire from the fender I just connect it to the blue/green white wire, but that wire still stays connected to the plug right?...i'm sure its a stupid question......
